Regardless of the culpability of the two professors, Thames and his lieutenant Dunlap displayed 5th rate management acumen.  Any decent manager at that level would know that reaction to abrupt disciplinary action of this nature would be immediate, state=wide, and counter-productive.  For that reason, if for none other, Thames and Dunlap should be cashiered.
