I have contacted a number of the organizations below and have been surprised by how many of them have responded with great interest very quickly. I encourage others on the board also to let these folks know that their attention to this matter would be appreciated and would likely be of interest to a national readership.
Do you think it would help if more people contacted them? What have been their responses so far? I didn't have any luck w/Tom Barlett of The Chronicle.
What exactly are you telling them? Post a copy of the message you sent them, so we can know what your angle is. I'd be willing to contact them.

Here (below) is what I've sent them; I think most people who haven't read The Chronicle (i.e., most people) have no idea what is going on, but when they here about it they are shocked and outraged.
=====================
There is a huge mess taking place at the University of Southern Mississippi right now that may be worth your attention. It has been written up (in its early stages) on the front page of The Chronicle of Higher Education and has been the topic of much superficial coverage in the state press, but recent discoveries suggest far more extensive problems than the one covered in The Chronicle. These problems may involve nepotism, cronyism, and abuse of power at a major state institution. A link to the Chronicle article (a good place to start), plus links to practically all other press coverage, can be found at www.geocities.com/fireshelby
Something smells here, and it seems worth looking into.
