W32/Bagle.H is an email worm which sends itself via its own SMTP engine to addresses stolen from your hard disk. The worm searches for files with the extensions WAB, TXT, HTM, XML, DBX, MDX, EML, NCH, MMF, ODS, CFG, ASP, PHP, PL, ADB, TBB and SHT and uses the files to extract the recipient and the sender email addresses. ***************************
FS readers, do not open ANY email attachment that is a .zip file that looks like this:
Subject: Hi! [smiley face symbol]
Message: Looking forward for your response [smiley face sticking out tongue symbol]
I heard from a very trusted source that the reason USM's internet was down last week was because the servers were being attacked by a virus/hacker. Be very careful when opening any email from USM that is sent with an attachment.
Thus ends today's public service announcement. *smile*
But the web page does list the e-mail as fsenate@usm.edu rather than the address that I was given. I will recheck with my source and see if they have multiple e-mails or if there was a mistake in the info that I recieved.
