I just figured that I'd put word out on the message board. There is a meetup scheduled for Monday, April 19 at 6:30 pm at Javawerks for Concerned Students of USM and friends. It seems timely, since the hearings are quickly approaching, for some strategic planning and discussion. The coffee's good too. If anyone is unable to come, but wants to contibute ideas, concerns, information, etc. to be discussed at the meetup, post them on this thread and I'll make sure to print them out and take them when I go.

I am old protester. If went to CUBoulder it was part of the curriculum. One of the most affective demonstration techniques that was used during that time ---we all given sign to wear on our ches the name of former students of CU that had been killed in Viet Nam. Aldo there were big issue signs about the president.
For the USM rally if people could be given a name of a professor that has left because of Shelby might be a visual way to express student concern. I think large signs with his atrocities on large signs -- with writing in red would look good. You need to keep the people moving some way group protesters that are moving looks much larger than one that is just standing. Lots of good chants that people can move to also very affective. You had some good ones last time. Also, One of the techniques that we used to get people to the rallys was for every one who is coming to grab three or four people to bring. The Rally needs more students to make the size of the concern be commicated. I SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY-- YOU COULD WELL SAVE MY JOB. I AM OLDER TENURED PROFESSOR WHO WOULD AT FIRST GLANCE LOOK LIKE WAS INVOLVED WITH MAKIING MONEY.
I don't know if we'll be discussing more protests at this time, but we'll keep your ideas in mind. They could be apropriate in other situations as well. Thanks!

Hope the meeting went well. I had hoped to come but had a previous engagement. I am curious as to whether you came up with any strategy. Probably might not be good to share in public but a yes or no would suffice and a possible way of accessing involvement.

I'll say maybe. Research pending. We'll let ya know when we know more. Sorry for the cryptic response.
I haven't heard about anything organized. Maybe something will get passed around closer to the date. However, I have heard many people (and seen things on some threads here) discussing things that they would personally say/do at commencement. Nothing disruptive though.
