The University of Southern Mississippi and Toxin Alert Inc. Sign an ManufacturingAgreement For the Development of Pilot Plant and Large-Scale Methods for Toxin GuardTM and Related Products
Toronto, April 26, 2004- The University of Southern Mississippi and Toxin Alert Inc. (TOX-V and TOXAF-OTC), announced today they have signed an agreement for the development of Pilot Plant and Large-scale manufacturing methods for Toxin GuardTM and related products. The five-year agreement will seek out US $ 3.0 million annually in US Federal funding for research carried out between Toxin Alert and The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. Toxin Alert's Toxin GuardTM is a polymer film based product designed to detect the presence of food-borne pathogens such as Listeria and E.coli in food as well as other applications.
Dr. Edward Petroff, Exec. Toxin Alert plans to include The University of Southern Mississippi along with Mississippi State University in a development program with the U.S. Armed Forces to produce Toxin GuardTM products for their use.
