College Board meeting behind closed doors

The College Board began meeting shortly after 1 p.m. today and immediately voted to go into executive session to discuss “potential litigation and personnel issues.”

The board is meeting with Attorney General Jim Hood. Eight of the 12 board members are in the meeting. Board member Ricki Garrett of Clinton could not attend but is on a conference telephone call with the board.

Members not attending include Betty Henderson Neely of Grenada, Stacy Davidson of Cleveland and Roy Klumb of Gulfport.

Klumb is not there.  Maybe Justice Anderson told him to stay home today.

What is the significance of Jim Hood being there?  And the phrase, "potential litigation"?

They have to have a reason to go into closed session. Otherwise, any media would be allowed to sit in on it. "Potential Litigation" is just one of the many reasons they can close a session
