Doesn't Hanbury's new AG status mean that his employment is no longer subject to the whims of either Shelby or the IHL Board?  I think so, which means he go a sort of promotion today.

Yes, very observant.

It was a PROMOTION.

He was rewarded.

You may draw your own conclusions, but the future of USM is now in dire straits and the IHL could care less. Neither does the governor, nor Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Tenure is now dead at USM. We can now proceed to recuit many quality faculty with no tenure and routine computer monitoring of emails for no reason.

Is it just me, or did he get a promotion for a very poor job of investigating Dvorak?  Wasn't he the one that did that "investigation" for thames?

Sure, Hanbury got promoted for failing to investigate Dvorak.  The only people he investigated were the investigators.

That's how corrupt administrations operate.

Hanbury advised Shelby to fire the two professors.

So in essence he received a promotion for his "great" advising skills.

He's the one who made the $hit hit the fan right?

Congratulations Hanbury. Let's see what wonderful legal advise you've got next.
