BEFORE YOU VOTE, SEE THIS THREAD:

POLL WILL BE OPEN 24 HOURS, WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT, SUNDAY, MAY 2.

TO SEE POLL RESULTS, CLICK HERE.

After you vote, come back and let's discuss funding this project.

How much will it cost to get the shirts printed?

Who is willing to pledge a donation to get the shirts printed?

Where will the profit from the shirts go?

Who is willing to buy a shirt after they are printed?

You can pledge to the shirt-printing fund here.

You can pledge to buy a shirt here.

Discuss.

Hmmm... Where could the money go? Well, for a few years now they have been selling inscriptions on bricks that are placed in the ground outside the hub and also near the Commons. How about buying one that will be inscribed "Fire Shelby!"

Not serious about that, but it's amusing to think about.

As for real uses of the proceeds, this may sound strange, but I wonder if some effect could be generated by using the money for a well-worded (and LARGE) ad in the Printz? They probably don't print over the summer, so timing is not the best right now, but it's just a thought.

I vote the Garrison quotation.  I envision the front of the shirt with the quarter and the words "NO QUARTER" and the quotation on the back of the shirt.

Don't know how it would it would affect the cost to have front and back printed, though.

I pledge to buy two shirts at $20 each.

I would like to see the money go to covering the cost of printing the shirts and then any profit to the Glamser/Stinger Legal Defense/Scholarship Fund.

Just my .02.

Until the legal bill is paid, I think the money should go towards that and/or the scholarship. That's what all the money from the Polk/McMillen shirts went to. (By the way, I still have some of these available.)

Where do I go to see about buying an Polk or McMillen shirt?  What sizes are left?

Contact mwilsonk@netdoor.com. There are L, XL and two XXXLs, and I think a few mediums. The T-shirts run a bit small. Price is still $20, $10 for students. The special offer--wrap your t-shirt in black and gold and send it to anyone, anywhere, anytime (in the continental US) for $30--still stands. Don't you think Virginia Newton deserves a shirt? Or how 'bout Judge Anderson? Mother's Day is right around the corner. And the shirt is the perfect gift for a graduating senior.

(Oh, my apologies to the students who were going to pick up a t-shirt on the second day of the hearings!)

Does anyone want to donate the price of the shirts so that Ms. Newton and Mr. Anderson may have one?

I think this is an excellent idea.

I may be wrong, but it may be too late for an add in the Printz. I can't recall if they print after Deadweek begins, but if so, then next Tuesday would be the last paper of the schoolyear. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this.

I as well voted for Garrison.

As far as where does the money go, T-shirts was right, until the legal debt incurred by Frank and Gary has been resolved the funds need to go there.

Put me down for one please and thank you. I will make arrangements with either T-shirt or the moderator of this board to take care of things. I have been advised not to put my email address here for contact. I do live out of state so it will be a challenge to figure out how to contact me, but I have a feeling that the people on this board are up to challenges .

Posted this on the other thread - didn't read directions!

My preference is the no quarter Garrison quote.

I will give you $100 in start up money and commit to two T-shirts at $20 each.  Details through FS.

I too voted for the Garrison quote. I think "No Quarter" has to be the best quip to come out in the last few weeks; a great rallying cry for those of us whose spirits were sagging a bit after Friday. I pledge 2 shirts at $20 each (one for a child, please!)

Although, Shelby's Institute.. would be absolutely fantastic. I feel a flyer campaign coming on!

Because of the expense of making the shirts and the timing (end of semester, person could be left with a hundred shirts and no one to sell them to) the suggestion has been emailed to me that a graphic be posted on the Fire Shelby website, and everyone can go download it and make their own Tees.

That is what I believe will be the final decision on this, unless someone else wants to undertake this endeavor.

Thanks,

Fire Shelby
