Call IHL and ask to speak to Suzanne Sharpe, Chief of Staff, phone: (601) 432-6661.
Tell her to relay to college board president Thomas Colbert your message that the board must meet before Saturday to consider Thames' presidency, that USM cannot take two more months of him, much less two more years.
Email Ms. Sharpe at ssharpe@ihl.state.ms.us Ask her to forward your email to Thomas Colbert. Ask him to call a special meeting before Saturday and to give serious consideration to Thames' job performance.
I am hearing that we must keep the pressure on Colbert if he is to call a meeting. Let's do it. Let's flood the IHL switchboard with calls and the server with email.
Hey, FS: When I just called that number, I got the voice mail of someone with the initials "BB." (I don't want to give her name out on the board.) Is she an IHL assistant? In other words, are you sure the number is correct? If so, I will call back and record a message for them so they will have it first thing in the morning. Thanks! The voice mail message makes no reference to the IHL, which is why I wanted to double-check.
I e-mailed them a letter just hours ago. After class I will be glad to call and maybe i can talk another person or two into calling as well. This could be our chance!

I just checked the IHL site myself, and "BB" is the assistant to the Chief of Staff, so that IS the correct phone number. Sorry for not checking this earlier myself! I will now get on the phone!
That was easy! I just called and left my message. If anyone else is up and reading the board at this hour, it might be worth calling and recording a message, since messages can be played back for President Colbert, whereas actual phone conversations can only be reported to him.
Just talked to Bridget (she's very nice). Told her my name and that I am an alum and that she please get a message to Thomas Colbert that the College Board needs to meet before Saturday to consider Dr. Thames' presidency. Should we leave our phone numbers for them to call us back and verify? I didn't, but I'd be willing to (just thought about it).
Let's keep up this effort until we KNOW it's too late.
Let's not cease calling and emailing until Saturday.
If Thomas Colbert does not call a special meeting, it will be in spite of our efforts. He won't be able to say that there was no public interest in this.
