I know everyone saw Albin (West Florida) and Trevino (Washington State) pop up yesterday. Just got off the phone with a source who said one, maybe even two other(s) are departing. Announcements coming soon.
This isn't surprising to me (that a lot of CBED faculty would be leaving). I'm imagining that they are more "mobile" than other disciplines...and have more opportunities in the private sector, too. Don't get me wrong, I'm a humanities person and respect those profs tremendously, but the reality is that business profs have more leverage due to market value for their services, etc. Just pointing that out. I think we can expect more losses in CBED over the summer, too.
I couldn't believe the first post above when I first read it, but I think there is some truth to it. I'm hearing rumbling of 1 to 2 more departures soon. I'm looking into it.
