Jack Hanbury, risk manager at the University of Southern Mississippi, will be on administrative leave through June 30 after resigning, university spokeswoman Lisa Mader said in a prepared statement Thursday.
The official confirmation came about 24 hours after reports began circulating on campus that Hanbury was no longer employed by the university.
Hanbury, who came to USM a year ago from a private law practice in Kentucky, handled the investigation that resulted in an attempt to fire tenured professors Frank Glamser and Gary Stringer. The university reached a settlement with them April 28 that was accepted by the College Board Friday.

Totally appropriate. I think the Midnight Chalker needs to get a loud speaker system a la Shawshank Redemption and blast that "na na na na hey hey goodbye" song over campus.
Actually, i think the name of that song is Kiss Him Goodbye...I don't see many lining up to do that!
(I saw Steam perform that song live in 1970 at Love Valley North Carolina outdoor rock festival!)

Sorry darlin' but it goes back before the 80's. Besides, Venus was originally released by Shocking Blue. I don't know about the Kiss Him Goodbye song. Either way, when you put the "kiss him" words in, it gives me the willies, just like the new logo with eye.
But it doesn't matter -- the good news is everyone has reason to hoist a cold one tonight.
By the way, notice we don't see any of that troll Shelby's Right tonight.
The first one. In recognition of Shelby's contribution to finally achieving unity at USM (unity against him) I'm going to, at the suggestion of a colleague, break open a bottle of "Fat Bastard" wine tonight!

Either way, GOODBYE, HACK HANBURY! GO BACK TO YOUR SPIDER HOLE IN KENTUCKY! PLEASE DON'T MAKE ANY STOPS IN TENNESSEE ON YOUR WAY HOME! Ah, give them enough rope, and they are BOUND to hang themselves!"
Okay, I'm too young to remember the 60s/70s version (I did know that Shocking Blue did the original Venus). Feeling older these days, but you guys just made me feel a little younger! Thanks!
Thank you, he said from the rocking chair on his porch.

Yet, Shelby is (was) the "the boss" (with no intended comparisons with Springsteen). So, did Hood order the letter? Or did Hanbury just act out on his own? Surely whoever reports that spin on WDAM tonight is smart enough to report with a smirk on his or her face.
If anyone is in contact with the reporter for the Chronicle of Higher Education, it would be good to notify that person of these latest developments. The more you can keep USM in the national headlines, the better.

This is insane! By saying that "Thames did not know about this and he did not know about that", Lisa is making SFT look like an idot...oops, idiot. Really though, is he totally oblivious to everything that is going on at USM? If not, how is saying he didn't know going to help him?
