He, like several others of us with qualifications similar to those who received "early" promotion in previous years, was turned down for promotion in the fifth year--last year--with letters that stated that AD suggested we concentrate on publishing more and on getting grants to assure success in the following year. Most of us, including William, have passed the provost level for tenure and promotion this year and are waiting to hear....http://www.sparkimg.com/emoticons/confused.gif

It is my VERY great pleasure to report that William Kuskin was granted tenure and promotion to associate prof of english; and that Juliana Abbenyi was promoted to full prof. We in English are very proud of them.

I am glad Kuskin is going to stay. He's a great professor. I took freshman colloquium under him and I learned a lot. So, Congrats Kuskin! You are getting what you deserve

Hooray, Dr. Kuskin! He's the man who made me love Chaucer and medieval lit! So glad to hear this! Very well deserved.

And hooray for Dr. Abbenyi, too (mother of Abbenyi Abbenyi, BTW). 2 GOOD things to cheer about in the English Department!
