I will butcher the name, but Aniush Pasani (sp?) and the entire group of people doing institutional statistics received one of the initial Shelby rituals...coming to work and finding their locks had been changed over the weekend. In one fell swoop the entire group was terminated.


And the way it was done has become the Shelby M.O. for how to say, "Your'e Fired." He lets the janitor / campus security tell them.

Ohmygod! When did this happen to Pasani and the institutional statistics group?

Any idea why they might have been fired? Knew too much? Were poised to reveal statistics showing conclusively what a mess Shelby Thames has made of USM these past two years?

How can the IHL Board close their eyes to things like this??? Or is this the way they like to see business conducted?

It is utterly sickening.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOCK SHELBY FRELAND THAMES OUT OF *HIS* OFFICE!!!!!!

reasons Anoush was fired: 

  1) supposedly didn't exhibit that "can do -will do" attitude required by power(s) above


  2) also heard something about threatening sexual harassment charges against ? prez ? 


 


i personally can't say if the above are true or not, but did hear these reasons cited by high ranking officials at the time


anyone else hear similar things?

I think it was Sept. 2002 (it's been mentioned on this board before).  It was the first of the "lock 'em out" firings.  Some of her staff are still at USM, just in other departments.  I don't know what ever happened to her.

So the first people to be subjected to the Shelby Thames firing ritual were in .... Institutional Statistics?


That fits.


And it paved the way for the inflated enrollment numbers, among other things.


In a line of work where standards of reporting are pretty lax to begin with, the IS people weren't willing to tell all the lies that Thames wanted them to tell.
