I apologize in advance if this is a question already addressed. If the IHL "housecleaning" mandate is turned on its head and Thames is ousted, does the new President have independant authority to terminate and replace all of the Thames lackeys, such as the Dvoraks, Mader, etc.?
Yes. Administrators serve at the pleasure of their supervisors. That is how the nine deans were dumped last year. That is how Hanbury was "canned." Usually, they keep their salary until the end of the contract period. Tenured faculty return to their home department.
Thanks Flash. I suspected that was the case. So in a perfect world, from an economic perspective, it would be advantageous to can the Dvoraks and their ilk near the end of their contract terms (like now), so as to minimize the disbursement of university monies for work not done, as is the case with Hanbury. Is it correct to assume these admin staffers have academic year, annually renewable contracts?

Admin types at USM tend to be on a fiscal year starting July 1. Contracts are for one year under normal circumstances for most people, and they are renewed each year by the supervisor. Football coaches and presidents are different.
