Just to clarify. Yesterday someone began using my "please don't fire me" name as his or her "don't fire me" name. To that person: please use a different original name. After all, I began posting as Media over a month ago and I may still do so in the future. I'm glad we are on the same side but can we please not use the same name?
Thanks for clarifying this. I hope you are not as down-in-the-dumps as the other "Media." I was getting very depressed and discouraged after reading his/her posts!
No, I am not as down in the dumps. Far from it. Let's just say, I know things that others do not. In fact, it is precisely because I can handle a marathon and do not expect a quick sprint that I want to distinquish myself from this new Media person. By the way, whatever action may be forthcoming to old shelby, it will occur regardless of whether or not he is president. Statutes of limitations on some matters are quite long....

Well, I can't scotch that rumor, but if it bothers you too much, treat it with scotch
If SFT receives a four-year extension, we have proof positive that IHL does not have the best interests of the University at heart for a very simple reason wholly unrelated to any "controversy" surrounding his management style: If he gets an extension, he will be about 74 years old when it expires.
The reason I say "about 74 years old" is that the University and the press have been very secretive & inconsistent whenever his age is mentioned. During the presidential search, he was reported as being 66 years old in some articles & 67 years old in other articles (in the same newspaper). There are other inconsistencies (for example, the age of his oldest child) that suggest that Thames is a little older than he is purported to be. So right now, he's somewhere between 68 & 70 years old. He could be as old as 76 when any rumored extension expires.
How old is Shelby Thames?
[I am not espousing age discrimination, but I am suggesting that a board who hires a guy who could be drawing -- and very well may be drawing -- Social Security benefits has not concerned itself with a real "long term vision" for the stability of the college.]

Because she's an illegal alien and you don't know her real name? Or she's using a pseudonym assigned by the witness protection program? Or because she was abandoned at birth and raised by wolves? Or her name at birth was Angeline Thames? Or she was born Angelo Godwin, before her reassignment surgery? The possibilities are endless....

Oh Lord, you're right. My mother once threatened me if I brought another Leo home, I kid you not. I was once married to someone whose birthday is August 11, and he had to be the center of attention every minute. I am not surprised at all, and I don't even really believe in this stuff!! (Although as an Aquarius, I keep an open mind about it . . .)

It may all be just coincidental, but it's fun to think about...an interesting when it works! And as a Gemini, I'll continue my chatty ways!
