Hey, this letter should be worth a nice merit raise, and maybe even a bump upwards on the USM tenure ladder. Irregardless, don't misunderestimate the value of loyalty in Dr. T's book.

This guy's grammar is atrocious, and he is instructing our next generation of teachers.  Scary.

Ortloff probably made one of the tenured Professors in Ed Leadership very happy with his kissing. This would be  Richard Kazelskis - husband of Carolyn Reeves Kazelskis of CISE who is DT's best friend and "mentor" (AKA Hatchet Person). DT, who received her Bachelors and Masters from USM (under the direction of Carolyn R-K and Mark Richmond), really depends on RK AND CRK for support.

Oddly enough, come to think of it, that's where Perin Lowery got his start (adjuncting in Ed Leadership) and somehow, without a national search, in a meteroic rise - PL went from Instructor in Ed Leadership to Associate in CISE without any type of rationale. And according to the illfated CISE website, exposed by FS many months ago, Lowery was even listed as TENURED.

LVN, you are right - he's been an administrator with the Hattiesburg Public School system for years and years. Went to high school with Dana - actually a pretty nice fellow.  Was running the NCATE preparations but didn't have the expertise of Susan Malone or Eric Luce to carry it off -- not his fault though, seriously - he was just ill prepared to step into those shoes. It's not who he is, it's the arbitrary manner that these people are brought into the system.

And, spouse of a faculty member in Foreign Languages, a recipient, from what I understand, of one of the non-merited stealth raises this year.

I wonder if this fellow thinks it is inappropriate for females of certain religions not to take a man's hand in public? I guess he would say that "irregardless" of religious beliefs, everyone should take an extended hand. Hey, some people refuse to shake hands simply because of health issues. I think if I came face to face with Dr. Thames I wouldn't shake his hand for fear that some of his contamination would come off on me! It is my right to decide what to do with my body. I think I remember something about this in Roe v. Wade and isn't that the law of the land?

Keep the good fight going and don't let someone who apparently hasn't learned from educational leadership what true leadership is. As I understand it, this professor is in secondary leadership. It's a horse of a different color in postsecondary. As Einstein said, you can't solve today's problems with yesterday's thinking. You can't apply secondary education procedures to postsecondary issues.
