Post Info TOPIC: THE INVESTIGATION
Quiet-but-Perceptive

THE INVESTIGATION

I have a question for all the board people out there.  I think I am going crazy, but maybe not.  During the hearings and in all the news the comments by SFT have been that he authorized an investigation of G&S.  IS THIS CORRECT?

If this is correct, then why hasn't anyone requested a copy of the REPORT generated by the investigation?

The proper protocol in the course of an investigation is to prepare a report that can later be used.  I am willing to bet that there is a report but some how we have not  or we have failed to request a copy of it.

ANY THOUGHTS?

The investigation continues. It's in the hands of the attornies.  What you bring up is correct and people need to keep asking these questions.  The O.K. Corral Showdown has yet to happen.

Not only has the showdown at the OK Corral not yet happened, the critical analysis of the paper record has not even begun. All the documentation prepared for the hearing is in the public record: the "evidence" accumulated by Shelby's lawyers, the "counter-evidence" prepared by S&G's lawyers, and the transcript of the hearing. Someone with a talent for analyzing such things should get copies of these documents and see what story they tell. I expect the evidence folders could be obtained from Mike Adelman; I don't know the name of the guy who transcribed the hearing, but it can surely be located and a transcript obtained.

More important than any person at USM getting a copy of the report why hasn't the Office of State Auditor, Office of Attorney General, and/or federal offices (FBI comes to mind) been on top of the questionable activities at USM.  I understand that if anyone places a call to the FBI and requests an investigation of wrongdoing that they are obligated to make an inquiry.  We all know that at the state level there is long term "deals" between elected officials, appointed ones (IHL), and petty-self serving agency heads (college presidents comes to mind), so there being no investigation at the state level is easy to understand.  Heck if they do then all their friends go down.  Remember the supervisors several years ago.  Trapper John
