There are others on this board who are familiar with this in an everyday sense. I have seen a lot about Doty on this board, but very little about the other two. This board has painted Dean Pood in a bad light.
Thus, perhaps some liberal arts people or those who know the score there can comment.
I have heard nothing bad about the Science and Technology dean, except that he is very good.

RE: question for greedy-- what's the opinions on ...
The Foriegn Languages and Lit dept. are searching--in vain, it would seem--for a replacement for Dr. Sanchez, the outgoing chair. A member of their chair search commitee told me the other day that Pood said they were coming close to doing something illegal by refusing to promote someone from within their department. It seems that their faculty falls into one of two catagories: 1..They don't want anything to do with the position. 2..The applicants are underqualified.
Furthermore, the same faculty member said that Pood constantly makes innuendos about the contents of certain emails from within the department, which makes me wonder if he's got a mole in their department, of the email monitoring rumors are true.
I'm usually don't place much stock in conspiracy theories but, then again, these are unusual times.

Hell, who knows. Maybe Shelby traded the Department of Homeland Security some American Pride paint for a copy of the Carnivore email-sniffing program.
That reminds me...a faculty member told me Friday that Shelby simply loathes being called a "bucket and paddle" scientist...yet another demonstration sign idea.

Hey guys, I saw a copy of the press release written by Lisa Mader announcing who would be replacing Frank Glamser for the rest of the semester. Apparently, it is a retired professor from Towson State University (MD) who now resides in Laurel.
In that press release, there is a quote or two from Pood saying how lucky USM students are to have this person come and educate theme. What a punk this guy Pood must be!!!!

From what I've been told, Foreign Languages has been trying for some time to get someone from within the department named as chair.

Someone ought to go look up Pood's supposed "research." (Googler?) It is suposed to be in "crisis management," right? We don't see much evidence of him managing anything.
