Two staff who are a big loss are Theresa Parker (Joe's wife) who retired, and Cindy Sheffield from the Registrar's office.

My personal nominee for the "Success is the Best Revenge" award has to go to Sam Thomas.

some digging produced these results...

Robert Ingram: Former Director of the Center for Community and Economic Development now the economic developer for somewhere in North Mississippi. (He truly bleeds black and gold, was a Fleming hire and left due to conflicts with ST.)  He left in '02.  An early casualty.

Bill Sisson: Former Director of the Center for Community and Economic Development now the economic developer for somewhere in Alabama.  left in fall of 03

David Kolzow: Former Chair of economic development Department, retired in May 03

Ron Swager: Professor in economic development, left to go somewhere in Arkansas during the summer of 03, rumor has it he will be starting an economic development program at a university there.

All four had REAL experience in economic development.  It seems the plan was to get rid of the real economic development people so ST could replace them with Polymer Science people.  That's like saying, "Hey, you got a PhD in physics, why don't you chair the music department."

Me thinks they must not have shared ST's vision/definition of economic development.
