If the professors prevail as a result of the hearings and they are ordered reinstated, will their legal expenses also be refunded? Or will they have to sue separately to recover those (and other) expenses? It would seem incredibly unfair if the university (or state) were not required to cover the costs of their legal fees. However, I know nothing about the law except that what is legal and what is fair is not always the same thing.

I'm fairly sure that Frank and Gary can sue for their legal expenses regardless of what sort of "setting" this is in. I'll check with my risk manager and get back to you all on that one.

Angie, it's time for lunch. Go have a few more drinks--it's ok...thanks to the Faculty Senate 86ing your alcohol policy, you don't have to worry about coming back to the office tipsy.
You can ask your Risk Manager but an earlier person asked for an outside attorney and that is my advice. Even if the two Profs were engaged in a civil action in court each party pays their own costs except in special circumstances.
Now if your lawfirm or you as an Attorney see that different please show me where to look. Do you practice here in Hattiesburg?

This would be the "special circumstance" that could cause USM to have to pay for G/S lawyer.
I was just wondering if you practice in Hattiesburg. Care to answer?
It si tough as an alum to see this. I came here out of curiosity and offered some advice.
I will leave this site for now. Being an imparcial person I think it is best. The previous allegations about any of the parties at his time is utterly stupid. Mr. Adleman would certainly tell you the same thing.
Whoever the Fire person is is not thinking to wisely about comments made publically.

I asked you if you are practicing in Hattiesburg? Or somewhere else in Mississippi? You aren't practicing with USM?

Wait, you are a Hattiesburg lawyer but you don't even know how to spell your colleague's name. Something's rotten in the Dome, Angie.

It was a JOKE! Sorry, I don't know where the "sarcasm" icon is. I will ask my friends in the legal profession about this, though.
You need to grow some tougher skin if you're going to hang out here on the FS message board.

The troll's back...please zap this, Fire Shelby!

In a way, I hope FS will leave this post; notice the tactic of intimidation implied in the final sentence. This post is very revealing about the ways the minds of some SFT supporters work. I guess they are emulating the man they admire so much.

Thanks for the support, USM Sympathizer. "Intimidation" is a strong word...this loser can't even spell anything right. I'm sure Chancellor Gee could care less about his trollish ways and misspelled posts.

Yes, I wouldn't give any serious worry to the threat implied in the message, but I do think it is revealing that this poster resorts to such a tactic. It says a lot about his mindset: if you disagree with me, your job is at risk. Hmmmm ... sounds familiar ....

Yes, maybe Jack Hanbury finally figured out how to use a keyboard!
Please re-post this question. I was not around yesterday to watch the messageboard.
I am sorry this turned into a flamefest.
Your question DOES deserve an informed response. Please post it again.
