As you now know, I did have a conversation with Mr. Mark Fijman of Phelps and Dunbar, and he in turn talked to Judge Anderson. Mr. Fijman called me back to inform me that Judge Anderson has agreed to a total of six reserved seats in the hearing room for faculty representatives from the Faculty Senate, AAUP, and the Graduate Council. Mr. Fijman indicated that you would send six passes to me assuring the six representatives of access to the hearing room on Wednesday and Thursday. I will then be sure the leadership of AAUP and the Graduate Council receive their passes.
On behalf of the Faculty Senate, I want to thank you for your help. The email below was informative, as was the information you provided during our brief telephone conversation. Thanks again. Myron Henry
Once again, Dr. Henry proves himself to be a gentleman. If 6 are being allocated for this purpose does anyone know if other seats are being reserved as well? IHL?Administration? Students? Alumni? I know of one Foundation board member who is planning to attend but have not heard whether or not that person will have a special pass. If the room holds 30 and there are 5 special interest groups (don't know if that is the right term or the right number - please don't take offense) who petition for passes, then the original message from Lisa Mader's office about first come-first served sounds obsolete.
I'm only half-joking when I say that I wish we could video (or audio) feed of the people in the second room watching the video feed of what is going on in the first room! I assume that the people in the second room will be allowed to boo, hiss, gaffaw, groan and express themselves in other appropriate way. I wish I had split screen or stereo!
Let me try again, THIS time after proofreading (knocks himself on forehead)!
