In a nutshell, both Tim and Angie wanted the Presidency of USM at Shelby's retirement - long before this crisis. Speculation is that the enrollment numbers fiasco weakened Tim's position last fall. Further speculation is that Tim, in response, leaked the resume. Have no doubt about their individual ambitions. Their respective powerplays have destroyed Angie's chances at any future in academia and shown Tim's true colors so that he can no longer be considered a viable candidate at USM, even as interim president.

I think FS is seeking outside and independent confirmation or new information -- gotta be careful about the drawing on the information in these threads -- what look like multiple sources could all be the same one.

Perhaps Present Professor, but FS was very quiet on the website this weekend while those discussions were going on...doesn't hurt to direct back...I would not presume to know Fireshelby's motivations.

Sphere, thanks for the reminder about the other thread--I did read through it and found it telling.

Pres Prof, yes, I was wondering if anything else had contributed to their passive aggression.

In my humble opinion, the house of cards could not have fallen at a better time.
