Poison on campus!

Folks: the next week starts soon, and we have no real changes, except !...

There is a vile, grey, underlying fog of distrust (and, in many cases, hatred) that hangs over the campus like a shroud. It is Poison. Even people who are new to USM, even recent visitors, are feeling the clammy evidence of it.

It will block out the light. It will block out our normal endeavors. It will curtail our efforts that seemed normal only a few years (even weeks) ago.

Every communication can be, and will potentially be, monitored. Every stance that you take in the classroom could be “reported” to the authorities and you may find your door locked.

Every email you send, every conversation you have, could be recorded in some fashion and shared with the world via a court proceeding.

Are we having a great time at “Southern Miss, to the TOP?”

To The Top Of What??

We are now the educational scandal capital of the country.

We have a president who sees all faculty members as enemies.

Will ANY of us be able to confidently send an email or memo or make a phone call again without wondering who is checking in on us?

We MUST write the IHL Board and let them know that USM is dying.

In fact, it may already be dead.

Faculty members have no rights.

Faculty members have no respect.

Staff members are fired with no reason explained.

Students have no rights or respect either… see what happened in the hearings.

What’s left?................

A confused, if not maniacal administration, bent on doing ANYTHING to stay in power.

KEEP WRITING TO THE IHL…. THIS IS NOT OVER YET!!!!!
