The debate rages over who "won." I think feelings will change per person, even, day by day.
Probably, none won outright, but Anderson was sent to do this very settlement, give both something so that no one lost and no one won.
BUT.............Thames lost on his bid to terminate. No matter the "conditions", his decision to fire was reversed and APPROVED by the college board.
We can quibble all day on this, but look at his face and body language at the hearing. Someone said he looked like a beaten puppy (Polk?).
He did. That was not the face of a winner.
Please FS board listen to this carefully.
There is little else that could have come from the hearing that the IHL would "accept." OK?
If the judge ruled against Thames and asked for much more, the IHL board would have not approved most likely and Klumb would have been in Jackson.
It takes a while of reflection to see this.
But, it is not over either. Perhaps Bill S. is not seeing the big picture.
SFT's "methods" are out in the press now. It will not go away. Everything he does from now on will be in the media. The HA editorials clearly do not support SFT's presidency as one for "healing." It will not and we all know the. The IHL board will have not choice but to finally come to terms with it.
This will take time, mabye 1-2 months, who knows.
Several scenarios are possible.
One, SFT goes on unchecked.....unlikely
Two: SFT goes on as a "lame duck".....more likely
Three: SFT goes on as a "lame duck" and sometime in the future steps down,......... this is possible now
Number three has several ways it can go about being accomplished. I doubt anything was decided after the hearing.
Everyone keeps forgetting what the IHL board discussed........the settlement and possible litigation. True, they drew a sigh of relief that the settlement prevents G/S from further legal action. But, I am sure the AD is looking at down the road. He is not a stupid man, and Miss. is already in hot financial water on the MDH mess.
Sit back and watch. Keep the pressure on.
What went on the dome after the hearing (lips sealed, sorry) does NOT show a happy SFT anc Co. crew who "won."
