Lifted from Present Prof's post in another thread:
THIS IS SOMETHING THE SGA SHOULD BE BOMBARDED WITH.
The SGA should also be forced to issue a statement of condemnation about the email monitoring. Isn't this the kind of meat and potatoes issue they are supposed to be here for? Aren't they supposed to look out for student rights? They might actually be amenable to this: or they might need to be shamed into it. Someone needs to get on the agenda (or force your way onto the agenda) at the next SGA meeting and demand they take a stand.
Faculty Senate will continue to act. So will AAUP. I am sure Concerned Students will too -- although I know people are deeply disappointed. We need to get the SGA on Board because it is the right thing for them to do. This is not an issue they should be allowed to backpedal away from.
