...will take up the USM matter at the May 20 meeting.

We have two weeks.  Continue sending letters, emailing, and telephoning IHL.

Contact info is on the Activism page of the Fire Shelby Website.

Here are Newton's comments:

Virginia Shanteau Newton, who represents Gulfport on the College Board, called the memo "unacceptable" and said Thursday she thinks the board needs a special meeting to talk about the situation at USM.

But board President Thomas Colbert did not want to call one, so Newton said they will talk about it at their May 20 meeting.

"I think a lot of things have been happening, and I don't believe the end of the settlement ended the controversy," she said. "I think we have a worsening situation."

Good work FS. I saw this also. She's contiuing to push -- coming out in the paper yesterday was a big deal. We should really rally around her and give her lots of positive support.

One nice note: I look forward to having a Senate meeting which will be dealing with a number of major issues without having to endure the bullying presence of Lawyer Hanbury.

This university already feels more free than it did this time yesterday.

3:00 PM, Gulf Park, Hardy Hall.

Here's info about possible resolutions (and Klumb's statement that Thames will neither resign nor be fired.)
