Message from Amy Young,: AAUP's Legal Fund

Remember that you can still donate to the AAUP legal defense fund AND get a terrifc t-shirt to wear to graduation. Contact Marian Wilson Kimber at mwilsonk@netdoor.com. E-mail now, before Marian shuts down her t-shirt business and moves to the University of Iowa.

Kick for a good cause. Let's show Shelby that we support our profs, too.

While the state's tax payers had NO CHOICE in the matter of funding HIS representation, the supporters of Glamser and Stringer did have a choice.

What a message it will send if we can get that balance down to zero.

I wanted to provide an update, and thought some good news would be nice for a change.

AAUP-USM, through generous donations, has raised $37,114.

T-shirt sales have really helped the cause.

I was thinking of suggesting a book sale with $$ to benefit G & S defense fund. Maybe it could be done and sell the T shirts too. This is just the worst time of year to try to do something like that. And yes, I will confess in the interest of shared transparency, that the book sale idea came to me while I was unpacking. Facing the fact that if I ever did teach again, I would be using new books anyway, and that I will probably never re-read War & Peace, or ever need those Norton Anthologies.
