I heard a rumor from a good source that this fall's freshman class will be the weakest academically in several years. The average ACT of the incoming freshman class could be as low as 19. For comparison, during Fleming's last year the average ACT of incoming freshmen was 21 and at Ole Miss it is 23. Has anyone else heard this rumor? It doesn't look like Shelboo is bringing Southern Miss "to the Top."

The drop from 21 to 20 over the past two years has already been documented in the Fact Book . A drop to 19 is certainly possible. People in admissions would have a feel for this.
