You have got to read the faculty senate minutes of January 17, 2003.  They are so funny.  So excerpts:

Re-organization:

Thames: ... I think it was best for USM.

Thames: Obviously, this is a maturation process.  We don't know how many schools will be formed. We know that schools can't immediately re-locate, and I can't give you a timeframe. 

Hudson:  The coast will harmonize with the change in Hattiesburg.   We will  have a slight adjustment and harmonization.

Thames:  Nothing ever stays the same.  Everything always changes.

Grimes:  We will have the only College of Arts and Letters in the state.  The prestigious college tends to be the College of Art and Letters.  It is a SYMBIOTIC paring.

Grimes:  We may hire new people.  Reallocation of dollars may allow us to do this.  The new college structure is ....

We may have to hire more.

Grimes:  It was our call (Thames,provosts, vp) that at this point in time, it was not important to involve faculty governance to make this initial, up-front  re-organization.  So, we think that this point in time is the right time for you to come in and make the reorganization work.

Grimes:  We haven't increased administration, but have downsized.  There were appointments that were not made in the president's office.  That's where the 275K or 276K came from. I can't give details off top of my head.

Grimes:  I'm not sure how to answer that...I wish I had a chart to show you how we will save money. 

Hudson:  There will be saving in adjunct faculty.  It's not a savings but a reallocation.  That's what the Board has challenged us to do, to reallocate money from administration toward the core mission.

Hudson:  I don't think so, it was a reallocation, there's a big difference.

NO WONDER WE ARE ALL CRAZY!    THESE PEOPLE CANNOT GIVE A STRAIGHT ANSWER ON ANYTHING. 

BECAUSE IHL IS TOO POLITICAL AND CORRUPT TO CHALLENGE THEIR B**L S**T EXPLANATIONS, THIS CRAP HAS BECOME OUR REALITY. 

I AM VERY ANGRY SINCE I READ THE IHL PRESS RELEASE THAT SAYS THAMES WILL GIVE THEM A REPORT ON HIS VISION INSTEAD OF THEM ASKING HIM WHAT IN THE HE** HE IS DOING DOWN HERE.
