Well, Angeline has rejected all levels of my professor's graduated offer to change her grade. She told him that the way the President's University Council is going now and things said by Roy Klumb during his visit here over the weekend lead her to believe they will weather the current storm, and Shelby Thames will get another 4-year term at this week's IHL Board meeting in Jackson. That would, as she said, give them 6 more years to clean house.
Needless to say, my prof is on his way back to class, and without a signed contract from Angeline. But, her grade remains a D+, so not all is lost.
I don't know what to say about the accuracy of Dr. Dvorak's statements. This meeting could get interesting. My sense is the Robin Robinson will be worse for USM that Ricki Garrett, and Robinson is supposed to be "the USM" appointment (whereas Garrett was not). This will be tough to call.
My risk manager and I are heading up to Jackson this week for the board meeting. We want to see if we can get an advance copy of Thames' report to Klumb, the new president of the board. I am also going to have dinner with Khayat and Lee while there. I want to get a feel for their view of Thames.
In the meantime, my RM's associate is sticking behind to watch events on campus. He's going to check around and see if he can get any word on Jeff Bower's missing contract renewal. Looks like Bower could be on the fast track to another job. We'll see.
Having lunch at Leatha's tomorrow. I would think she's on the friends list for obvious reasons. I think I'll leave my photo on the wall in her place, next to all the rest. Have to remember to sign it.
Oh, and hang out at Java Werks every now and again. They're down with the cause. We're going to have some of our planning sessions there in the near future, instead of always meeting in the surveillance van.
One last tidbit. We vacated the Hawthorne Suites this morning at checkout. We needed a change of venue for security reasons. But, more on that later.
