Dvorak Construction Co., LLC < 1. "Company" now handling details of construction of the Trent Lott Center (according to Bobby Chain in the HA, 5/19/04); 2. "[Angeline Dvorak] knows about as much about building as I do about teaching English." [quote by Bobby Chain in the HA on 5/19/04 regarding delays in construction of the Trent Lott Center at USM]; 3. Construction Co. accused by Bobby Chain of trying to move the Trent Lott Center to land that previously housed Van Hook Golf Course, a claim that seems to be supported by the inability of Angeline Dvorak and Phillip Halstead to coordinate their "stories" about the alleged plan (in a 5/19/2004 HA article); 4. Note to Mr. Chain: you might even know more about teaching English than she does (check out her vita).

The Guice Boyz < 1. familial street gang (in the Hattiesburg area) comprised of a family of doctors, spanning at least two generations. The patriarch is C.E. Guice, (aka "papa doc"), a retired physician. The sons are C.E. "Chuck," III (aka "baby doc") and John M. Guice (aka "the glove"), ear/nose/throat and urology specialists, respectively. The favorite modus operandi of two members of the group ( "papa doc" and "the glove") is the "drive-by letter," usually to The Hattiesburg American, that refers indiscriminately to any of the hundreds of highly trained, professional and hardworking USM faculty as "spoiled children," "foment[ers of] trouble," "backdoor political trick[sters]," "usurp[ers . . . of] authority." The gang supports the a day’s work for a day’s pay argument, and "papa doc" thinks ". . . the faculty should be fired" (HA, 5/13/04); 2. "papa doc" made a Kleinpeter of himself, and "the glove" is well on his way to doing so, if he hasn’t already; 3. Hattiesburg community is now waiting to hear from "baby doc," who may be the brains of the gang given his (smart) silence on the matter heretofore.

Ryan, Tim < 1. Director of the USM Foundation; 2. man partially responsible, according to Bobby Chain, for delays in construction of the Trent Lott Center; 3. reportedly has created a hostile type of work environment at the Foundation [outward bound submission to Glossary].
