Tim Ryan, He's gonna get you!

ORIGINALLY POSTED BY "GO CHAIN GO!"

EDITED BY MODERATOR TO REMOVE PRIVATE INFORMATION ABOUT CHAIN.

IN THE FUTURE, I WILL NOT EDIT THESE POSTS; I WILL REMOVE THEM.

DO NOT POST PEOPLE'S PHONE NUMBERS ON THIS MESSAGEBOARD. IF MR CHAIN WANTS HIS PHONE NUMBER POSTED HERE, HE WILL HAVE TO CONTACT ME TO GIVE PERMISSION.

**********************

Met with Mr. Chain today and he asked me to report the following:

Several members of the USM Foundation Board of Directors reported to him that Tim Ryan said "there is not a word of truth in the Bobby Chain article."  Bobby is tired of these lies.  He suggests that if faculty members know Foundation board members and want to get the story verified, please do so.

Also, if you have additional information about Tim's misappropriation of the truth in the matter, please email Mr. Chain or call him.

Chain has announced he is at WAR.  He is not sneaking around planting rumors.  Bobby is out in the open and if you want to know where he stands, just ask him.

Tim Ryan, if you want to call Bobby Chain a liar, please call him personally and do it to his face.  He is waiting for your call.  (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Bobby asked that the following history with Tim Ryan be posted because it is time for people to be held accountable for this mess.  The following is an example of the roadblocks that Chain has faced with Thames.

Chain and a group of business leaders secured over two million in additional private funds for the Trent Lott project.  They were working for free and raised more money on the telephone in one day than the foundation has been able to do in two years.

Because the Foundation has to receive the private money, Chain called Tim Ryan and asked permission of Ryan to represent USM to collect the money.  Ryan's answer to Chain was as follows:

"I'll have to take this request to the President."

Bobby Chain has been waiting eight weeks for an answer.

Tim Ryan did not have the respect to respond to the request from Mr. Chain.

This is part of the money that Chain is worried about  losing because he can't get an answer out of the Foundation.

Why doesn't Ryan go get the money?  He has not even asked about the donors.  He is too busy.

No. 2:

After is was announced on TV, Harold Doty and Tim Ryan went to see Mr. Chain.  Doty began by saying:

"Mr. Chain, I am here to tell you how it is going to be.  We are going to make the Trent Lott project into the new College of Business building and that is final."

Bobby asked them to schedule another appointment for further discussion, but he can't get a response from Harold Doty or Tim Ryan.

The train is coming and Phil Bryant is aboard!

The request has been made for Phil Bryant to audit this project and other foundation issues.  Please write or e-mail Phil Bryant and encourage him to get down here now!

If this is an accurate report, it is helpful; have you or Mr. Chain contacted any local media other than the HA?  It would be great to see him debate an administrator on the Sunday evening TV show.  Better yet, perhaps he could challenge an administrator to an open public debate on campus or at a community site so there wouldn't be the artificial time limit of a TV show.  The debate could be recorded and the recording posted on this website and/or broadcast on the university radio station.

Can you provide us with an e-mail address for the auditor you mention, or at least indicate which office he works for so we can track down the address?

I have come to regard Mr. Chain as the latest (and one of the most important) in a long line of admirable people who have stood up for USM; I thank him profoundly for his willingness to speak out.  I hope more members of the business community will soon follow his example.

This is an accurate report.  I only report information that Mr. Chain directs me to report.

Phil Bryant is the State Auditor for Mississippi and is located in Jackson.  He is the elected official that is in charge of the Office of the State Auditor.  It is on the State of Mississippi web site.  Direct your requests directly to Mr. Bryant and not to the young man listed on the website.  He is one of Thames former lackeys.  Personal correspondance to Mr. Bryant or a phone call should be more effective at this point in time.

It would great to see Bobby Chain on that WLOX Sunday night show taking on Roy Klumb.

BTW:  The new board member, Robin Robinson made a motion at the Board meeting this week to have USM hold post tenure reviews for all faculty during the month of June, and have them complete before contracts are issued July 1.  This data corresponds with another thread about withholding contracts of people they want to fire.  Obviously, she looked stupid bringing up this idea at her first official meeting.  Where there is smoke, there is Shelby.

I am hesitant to leave up a post that has Mr. Chain's phone number. I saw that an earlier one had his email address.

Go Chain Go, can you email me at fireshelbysubmissions@yahoo.com to provide me details as to what your relationship to Chain is.  I promise confidentiality, but I am hesitant to leave up any posts that provide Mr. Chain's email and home phone number until I know more.

I will not release any information about you.  If you don't respond through email to me, I am afraid that I have no choice but to pull posts about Mr. Chain, unless I am assured in a credible way that you are a legitimate conduit for him.

Sorry the formatting is screwed up.  Just click on "click here to report it online" in the middle of the page to get to the complaint page.

See the problem here is that this just doesn't sound like Doty.  Oh, I could see him trying to angle for something like this.  But that's a far cry from telling Bobby Chain what's what and that it's final

I think we need to back off from a complete bashing of Doty until this accusation can be corroborated.  My guess is that there is some truth, but that the tone and message is grossly exaggerated. (He said, zipping up his flame retardant suit, expecting the worst.)

Here's some news from middle TN (TSU president--former pres. at Jackson State, I believe--is resigning over results from an audit.  Note the company that "bribed" him with the Super Bowl tickets):

Watch out for food services vendors bearing Super Bowl tickets, Shelboo!
