Here is the press release from the IHL regarding their 3 hour meeting with SFT:

Here's the relevant excerpt.  Let's break it down, shall we?--


The Board heard from Dr. Thames of his plans to improve communication with university constituents,


So, they are admitting that Thames' communication with university constituents is poor.


to encourage interaction between faculty and administration,


And, they are admitting that interaction between faculty and administration is nonexistent (or nearly so) since it needs to be "encouraged."


and to work with others to restore trust and support within the institution. 


The most d*mning statement--they are admitting that "trust and support" needs to be restored at the institution--that it currently does not exist at USM.


The Board is encouraged by the accomplishments that USM has achieved under Dr. Thames’ watch, and by the efforts being made to rebuild the university community and to address the problems of unrest.


Here, they are admitting that the university community needs to be "rebuilt"--sounds like an admission of some magnitude to me.  Also, they are acknowledging great "unrest."


The Board continues to support the president as he implements this plan. 


Folks, we need to DEMAND the details of this great plan to rebuild the university community, address the unrest, restore "trust and support," repair (or create!) communication between the president and his university constituents.  SFT's great plan should be broadcast from the top of the Johnson Science Tower (or at least sent out in a broadcast email).  Seriously, where are the details of this plan?  Has anyone seen it?  You would imagine that SFT would be trumpeting this plan to every corner of MS and beyond.


SFT, show us the plan!  Don't keep it all to yourself!

If the PUC doesn't press for concrete details of SFT's great plan at their next meeting (and get those details), then they should disband their group forthwith.  The PUC is a travesty at USM right now.

Presidents University Council. I understand however that the name was changed to Presidents Council. But the folks here still like PUCk

Now dammit, Truth, don't you know better than to mention the arts at USM? Where or how did Puck, or Shakespeare, or any of your other literary heroes ever benefit USM financially? We all know that selling paint is the future of USM - get in tune with the great vision of SFT and Boss Hogg Klumb for Hardy High, oops, I mean USM....

I am hoping that David Johnson, if he is still reading this board, will demand public presentation of "The Plan" at the next PUC meeting.


Truth4USM is right.  If the PUC can't get Thames to reveal the details of his plan, it's proved its uselessness.

I still read the board. It helps me to understand at least the perspective of the people who post on here. Just wanted you guys to know I'm still hearing you.

They are mere puppets.  They have fallen into Lisa Mader's PR trap and will not give up the self-serving role they now enjoy.  To boost their egos, they will continue to serve the master and let themselves be played as puppets.  Oh, the shame!!!
