He's making a perfect arse of himself, again. Elliot is dancing circles around him. Tune in to WLOX, I think the show is only 30minutes long.

This is the scariest thing I've heard in a while.  Klumb states outright that he thinks that tenure has got to go.  He says:  "We have got to change the culture of these universities."  He is directly attacking the faculty of ALL MS universities.  Folks, his agenda is as clear as day....pressure MUST be stepped up on the College Board to recognize the faculty's views on these issues!

Amazing, just amazing...please listen to this, if you haven't heard it already.

This link needs to be shared with faculty at other state universities ASAP.

Yes, and a transcript of Klumb's remarks needs to be on the state (and national) AAUP websites.

Not laughin at all......truth4usm is absolutely right. This has to get out to faculty all over the state. Khayat and his Phi Beta Kappa chapter can't be very happy about this--nor should all those Ole Miss alums.

But poor managers drive them away in droves!

Just spoke to one of my faculty colleagues at Vanderbilt about the issue of post-tenure review.  He said that no top university in the US has any sort of post-tenure review process (and, certainly not like Klumb has in mind....in order to "oust" tenured professors).  What a joke Klumb is making out of himself and, unfortunately, MS higher education, to boot.  The question now becomes:  how much damage will Klumb do in his year as president of the College Board?

Many thanks to Roy Klumb's exact words for making the mp3 available. I just finished listening to it.

Klumb is definitely planning to get rid of tenure. USM may be his guinea pig, but he has ambitions beyond that. There's no other way to interpret his rhetoric about "no real post-tenure review."

He also talks as though the legislature can be persuaded to substantially increase its appropriations to state universities. That isn't the trend anywhere else...

And he talks about too much "fat" in the budgets of state universities, without once mentioning adminsitrative spending.

This guy is going to do a lot more damage, if he gets his way.
